Bio

I am from León, Spain (1982). I started to work as Photographer for local newspapers and agencies while I was in college. Then I became a Photo Editor at the EFE Photography Desk in Madrid after getting my Bachelor in Journalism at Complutense University in 2005.

In 2006 I got a scholarship to study Photojournalism at the Danmarks Journalisthojskole. Afterwards, I continued working for EFE and in 2007 I joined the photo department of ADN newspaper.

In 2009 I moved to Central America, traveling and freelancing in Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala.

In 2010 I went to Haiti to cover the earthquake. First as photojournalist correspondent for EFE/EPA, and then freelancing and contributing for different papers and magazines: The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Der Spiegel and several NGO's.

I was based in Haiti from 2015-2020 for Reuters, but I was often called to assignments in other locations.

My profile and articles I've written for Reuters.
